Hyderabad: A 23-year-old man, whose girlfriend refused to marry him, ended his life while speaking to her on a video call in Singarikunta under Banjara Hills police station limits.
According to P Venketeshwarlu, assistant sub-inspector of Banjara Hills, the victim Mohammed Zaheeruddin hanged himself to a ceiling fan while his roommates were away on Tuesday.
Zaheeruddin, a native of Hawrah, was on WhatsApp video chat with his girlfriend. He threatened to end his life if she refused to marry him, police said.
As the girl was explaining to him that she was in love with another person from Howrah, the victim hanged himself while talking to her.
Banjara Hills police reached the spot and shifted the victim’s body to Gandhi hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
