Man vents ire at ATM in Chandanagar

Angered At the ATM not dispensing cash, he walked out of the booth, picked up a boulder and damaged the machine.

Hyderabad: An unidentified person damaged a Punjab National Bank ATM machine at Chandanagar on Thursday night, after he could not withdraw the amount from the machine. Police found that the man had entered the wrong pin number thrice, due to which he could not withdraw the amount. He vented out his anger on the ATM machine.

Chandanagar Inspector N. Tirupathi Rao said that the man walked into the ATM booth at around 12.30 at midnight, apparently to withdraw cash.

Angered by the failure, he walked out of the booth and picked up a boulder and came back and damaged the machine screen and walked away. Based on the CCTV footages in the ATM booth, the suspect is identified and will be traced soon, said Mr Tirupathi Rao.

He also appealed to the ATM users to not lose patience and resort to such acts, which will eventually land the persons involved in trouble.

A case is booked at Chandanagar police station and a probe is under way.
