Hyderabad: 'Osmania General Hospital' rape victim assaulted by auto driver too

Hyderabad: The domestic violence victim, who was raped by a ward boy at Osmania General Hospital three days ago, was also allegedly assaulted by an autorickshaw driver while she was on her way to Osmania Hospital from Banjara Hills police station in the early hours of Saturday.

The auto driver diverted the vehicle to an isolated location and attempted to rape her but a police patrol noticed the vehicle parked suspiciously and rescued the woman. Police, however, said no such incident was reported. The Afzalgunj police investigating the rape case said that how she travelled to the hospital from Banjara Hills police station is still under investigation.

At around 10.30 pm Banjara Hills police said that the Patrol car III, on night patrol in Vengal Raonagar noticed an auto driver and an unidentified woman in a brawl and apprehended the driver and seized his vehicle. He was booked under nuisance case, while the woman was let off as it was late at night. “Since it was a nuisance issue, the woman was let off and her details could not be ascertained. This woman and the victim cannot be the same, as both are different issues,” said an official.

The woman has not mentioned anything about the incident in her complaint.
