Hyderabad: A 20-year-old man was arrested by the Asif Nagar police for his alleged involvement in kidnapping and raping a 13-year-old girl.
The accused, identified as Munawar, is a motor bike mechanic. “The accused and the victim knew each other from past 8-9 months. He picked up the girl from her residence on May 2 under the pretext of marriage. On the same day, the victim’s father filed a complaint stating the name of the accused.
The accused had taken the victim along with him to a dargah in Karnataka. The police traced them with the help of the accused’s friend.
The victim said that she was raped and a medical examination was performed to confirm the same. The accused has been sent to judicial remand and a case has been filed under the Pocso Act.
