Hyderabad: An old criminal who refused a matchbox to his friend was brutally murdered by him and three others in Jubilee Hills on Sunday night. Police said the killers stabbed Ameer Ali Khan, 26, 15 times on his chest and stomach, killing him on the spot. Police detained the suspects.

Ameer Ali Khan was a resident of Borabanda and was involved in six cases including a murder, attempt to murder and other offences. He has a suspect sheet against him at the Madhapur police station. After coming out on bail in the murder case fearing attacks by enemies he shifted to Odisha and was living there. He was also working as an electrician for a contractor. As he had to appear in court in the murder case on May 11 he came to Hyderabad on May 3.

On Sunday, he and his friends Sohail and Shahrukh went to a quarry in Sanjaynagar and drank alcohol. While consuming alcohol, the suspect Narender who was also drinking alcohol with his friends asked Aamer for a matchbox, to which Aamer replied that he did not have one.

Aamer, Sohail, Shahrukh and Narender belonged to Borabanda and were friends. After they finished drinking Aamer and friends were leaving the spot. Narender then called Aamer. Aamer went to see them behind some rocks while Sohail and Shahrukh waited for him. After a while they heard the loud cries of Aamer and when they rushed towards the spot they found Narender and his friends stabbing Aamer. When Sohail and Shahrukh tried to help Aamer the suspects pelted stones at them and fled. “We suspect that four persons were involved in the attack. We are checking all angles,” inspector S. Venkat Reddy said.

A murder case was registered and the body was handed over to his family. Police found that Narender is also an old criminal. Police detained Narender and two others.
