Hyderabad: A 50-year-old autorickshaw driver was booked by Kalapathar police for raping a minor girl studying in Class IV on Sunday. Police said the suspect, Mohd Aslam, lured the 11-year-old girl, who was his new neighbour by giving her chocolates and biscuits. “The victim is the eldest among four children and is studying in a government school,” said Kalapathar inspector Rudrabhasker.
The girl’s family had shifted to a house near Aslam's house a week ago. “Generally, the girl used to visit his house to play with her friend, Shireen, the granddaughter of the suspect. He used to give chocolates and biscuits to them. The girl told her mother on Sunday that the man was harassing her and touching her inappropriately. On Sunday he raped her after locking himself with the minor in a room,” inspector added. Aslam threatened the girl that he will kill her if she told about the rape to anyone. Based on a complaint received from the victim’s mother police booked a case against the autorickshaw driver who is now absconding.
