Adilabad: Ali held for provocative message on social media
Adilabad: Adilabad superintendent of police M. Srinivas on Monday said that they have arrested Md Hakeem Ali of Utnoor for allegedly posting an audio message on the social networking site, insulting the gods of a section of community. He would be remanded to judicial custody.
Speaking to mediapersons at Utnoor, the SP said that they had sent three teams to hunt the accused in the incident and one of the teams had arrested Md Hakeem in Maharashtra and brought him to Adilabad.
The SP said they remanded 12 persons of a community and six persons of another community to judicial remand in connection with the communal incident and subsequent incidents in Utnoor town.
He appealed to the people of the town to maintain peace and harmony and keep open shops in the town as usual, though Section 144 continue to be effective in the area.
Life in Utnoor, where communal clashes took place recently, has returned to normalcy, but some shops remained close fearing attacks by miscreants.
