Hyderabad: A 19-year-old boy who went to attend his friend’s birthday celebrations was found dead on the terrace of his own house the next day. The victim had bleeding injuries and burns on his body, said the police.
A Narsingi police official said that Jupally Tharun of Puppalguda, used to go to the terrace to smoke at night. In spite of a warning by his brother and mother, Tharun did not change his habits. Sometimes, he even used to jump on to the terrace, if the door was locked.
On Saturday night, Tharun called his mother and said that he would be attending a friend’s birthday celebrations. Two hours later, he again called and informed that he would return at around 5 am. He never came back.
The next morning, his family called Tharun but he did not answer his phone. Sometime later, the phone was switched off. His brother Ram Kumar, 20, began searching and found Tharun on the terrace, unconscious with bleeding injuries to his head and burns to his hip, back and elbow, said the police. Tharun was rushed to a hospital for treatment but was declared brought dead.
Based on a complaint from Mr Ram Kumar, a case of suspicious death was registered for inquiry.
