Bengaluru: A 23-year-old construction worker was brutally murdered by a man after he was found having an illicit affair with the latter’s wife. The incident was reported in Chikkabanahalli at Kachisonnenahalli in Kadugodi police station limits on Friday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Kashi, while the accused is Premankur Savanth, 33, who was arrested by the police. Both hailed from Kolkata and were working as construction workers at an apartment in Chikkabanahalli. They were living in temporary sheds at the construction site.
According to the police, Kashi reportedly had an illicit affair with Premankur’s wife and the latter came to know a few days ago. Since then, he was waiting for a chance to kill Kashi.
On Friday evening around 7 pm, Kashi returned to his shed and was chopping vegetables to prepare dinner. Meanwhile, Premankur entered his shed and hit his head with a hammer. As Kashi collapsed, the accused picked up the knife and slit his throat.
“We received information about the incident and rushed to the spot. Premankur was about to escape and had even packed his bags, but he was nabbed. When questioned he revealed that he murdered Kashi because he was having an affair with his wife,” the Kadugodi police added.
