Kerala youth in spot for paedophilic posts on Facebook
Thiruvananthapuram: The state police will register a case against a youth, Muhammed Farhad, who posted pro-paedophilia messages on the social media. The police hi-tech crime inquiry cell which conducted a preliminary probe into the matter has recommended booking him under sections of Protection of Children From Sexual Offences Act as well as Information Technology Act.
DySP E.S. Bijumon, heading the hi-tech cell, also recommended that other youths who posted messages and pictures allegedly promoting child pornography should be arraigned in the case.
The preliminary probe revealed that Muhammed, a native of Ponnani in Malappuram, is staying in Kochi and Thrissur and was a dropout from a fine arts college.
In his post, Muhammed said that he felt lust towards a fifth-standard girl and used to give her Munch chocolate daily to earn her love. He further said that all sexual desires were natural. Film maker M.A. Nishad had lodged a petition with the police seeking action against Muhammed.
The hi-tech cell initiated the probe on the basis of a set of complaints, including one from the State Child Rights Commission.
