Srikakulam: A woman and her daughter-in-law were brutally murdered in a house in Vijayanagar Colony, at Bondilipuram, of Srikakulam Town.
According to the police, Abdul Khadar Jilani resided with his family on the third floor. While he left for work every morning, his two sons left for school, and his wife, Mehrunnisa, 37, and mother Zohara Bai, 65, stayed at home.
On Thursday evening Jilani’s children came home at 5 pm and knocked on the door, but it was not opened.
The children called their father for the duplicate keys and he suggested that they go to a relative’s house to get the keys.
The two children opened the door with the keys and were shocked to see their mother and grandmother lying in a pool of blood.
They immediately informed their relatives and their father, who then informed the police.
The local police rushed to the spot with a clues team and found some documents missing from two opened suitcases along with Rs 4 lakh cash and gold ornaments.
The police have started the investigation by registering the case and pressing the clues team into action.
