Hyderabad: Seventeen Hookah parlours operating in mainly residential areas across the city have received closure notices from the GHMC.
The civic body has been receiving several complaints from residents alleging ruckus created by these Hookah centres. In a first, the GHMC is also imposing Section 441 of the Municipal act to shut down these parlours. Section 441 is about building rules in residential areas. Officials added that action was also taken because the businesses were allowing minors.
