Mother Arrested in Goa-Karnataka Joint Operation for Alleged Murder of 4-Year-Old Son

Suchana Seth apprehended in Chitradurga, Karnataka, for the alleged murder of her 4-year-old son during a visit to Goa

Bengaluru: In a coordinated effort by Goa and Karnataka police arrested a a mother identified as Suchana Seth on charge of her murder of her 4-year-old son which is said to be taken place at an Service apartment in Goa while the arrest of the woman was at Aimangala police station in Chitradurga of Karnataka on Tuesday. However, the motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained by the police.

It is said that Suchana Seth, Chief Executive Officer of Artificial Intelligence Lab in Bengaluru was on a visit to Goa with her son and they stayed at a service apartment in north Goa. They spent about five days before she decided to return back to Bengaluru. However, service apartment staff noticed that son was missing and enquired Seth. Seth is said to have told the staff that her son is with her relatives and vacated the apartment.

Seth is said to have stuffed the body in a bag and left Goa. Seth hired a cab to Bengaluru and boarded the cab with her luggage. The staff growing suspicious went to clean the room occupied by Seth and came across blood stains in the bathroom. They alerted the Goa police who in turn contacted their counterparts in Karnataka and established the number of the cab driver.

Police directed the cab driver to take the vehicle to the nearest police station and following the instructions of the police, the cab driver entered his vehicle to Aimangala police station on National Highway-4 passing through Chitradurga before police made the arrest.

Post-mortem of the boy was conducted at Hiriyur government hospital in Chitradurga. A case has been registered in Goa, said the sources.
