Hyderabad: A 19-year-old man who allegedly cheated and sexually exploited a 23-year-old divorced woman was arrested by the Malkajgiri police on Wednesday. The police said that the accused and the victim met on Facebook and developed a relationship, following which he allegedly made false promises.
According to Malkajgiri police, the victim, 23, was a resident of Nacharam area. About three months ago, he came in contact with one Md Affan, 19, a resident of Nacharam and native of Bareli in UP through Facebook.
The woman had taken up a job as a maid and was living at her owner’s house. She developed friendship with Affan and he promised to marry her and adopt her children. They had met in her owners’ house in their absence, where he exploited her sexually on the promise of marriage, said the police.
On December 31, when they were together, the inmates of the house caught them. Even then, Affan promised to marry and escaped from there but switched off phone.
The woman lodged a complaint alleging that he had raped and cheated her, following which the boy was arrested and produced before a court for the judicial remand, the police added.
