Hyderabad: A tribal minor girl, pursuing class X, committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling fan at her house after known miscreants allegedly harassed
her mentally and physically,' Mahbubnagar district police suspect.
Days after the girl was found dead, Balanagar police of Mahbubnagar intensified their probe and questioned the suspects. The police, who registered cases of a suspicious death, are likely to alter the sections into abetment to suicide.
Jedcherla inspector Jamulappa said that a team of senior doctors examined
the post-mortem on the body based on allegations made by the parents and a
report would come out within days. Based on the report, the investigation officer would initiate action. In the preliminary probe, the girl bolted the door from inside and took the extreme step, clearly indicating suicide.
"Based on circumstantial evidence, we have picked up suspects and questioned
them. We need to do more investigation to find the reasons behind the death.
Statements of parents, neighbours, villagers, and others have been recorded
as part of the probe.
A few days ago, after her body was found, the villagers staged protests alleging murder. However, the police, who rushed to the spot on getting information, managed to shift the body and conducted a post-mortem.
