Telangana: Student beaten up, locked for four hours
Hyderabad: An 18-year-old CSE student of Visionary Junior College, Khilwat, was allegedly beaten up and locked for four hours by the director of the college, Dilkhush Farzeen, after the latter received abusive messages from the girl, Syeda Shams Bazegah Afreen, a resident of Chanchalguda. Afreen’s mother, Yasmeen has said that her daughter has been beaten up badly. She was locked up for four hours in a college room. “Three teachers — Dilkush, Salma and Fareeda – beat my daughter, saying she has been sending abusive texts to them,” the mother said.
The incident came into light when the mother went to the college to pick her up on Monday. “I always pick and drop my daughter as she is physically disabled and has some health problems. She told me that the college staff caned her badly and locked her inside a room for four hours. When I asked them about it, they beat me up as well,” said Yasmeen.
According to the college management, the girl sent abusive messages on WhatsApp. “I have already blocked her seven numbers but she continues to do so. Why would we beat a girl who has health problems?” Dilkhush Farzeen noted. She added, “I have already sent the screenshot of the abusive texts to the SHE Team who is investigating the incident.” “The girl’s family has already made an issue. In fact, she has only been slapped twice,” said the principal of the college.
According to the victim’s mother, “When we came home from the college, her hands were swollen and eyes red. They hit her on the back as well,” the mother said. Mr. Y Naresh, Hussa-inialam police sub-inspector, said that, the college authorities have approached the SHE Team. The police has registered a case.
