Disha case: SC panel questions doctors treating injured cops

Hyderabad: The commission formed by the Supreme Court to probe the alleged encounter killing of four persons who were accused in the Disha rape-murder case on Thursday questioned medical professionals from a private hospital who treated two policemen injured on December 6, 2019.

The two cops, constable Arvind Goud and station incharge Venkateswarlu of the Nandigama police station, were reportedly injured after they were allegedly shot by two of the four accused involved in the Disha case.

 

Thursday's session continued with Dr Gone Naveen Kumar, assistant professor of Osmania General Hospital, whose questioning was paused on Tuesday. Dr Kumar had provided the initial first-aid to the policemen on December 6, 2019.

Dr Kumar, who was working at the community health centre (CHC) at Shadnagar when the four accused had allegedly attacked the cops, told the commission that the two police personnel were brought to the CHC in an unconscious state and they regained consciousness after he administered first-aid treatment.
