Bengaluru: Teen arrested for sending lewd texts
Bengaluru: A-19-year-old student of St. Joseph's College was arrested for sending obscene messages to his classmates and friends through WhatsApp.
The accused, Bhargav, hails from Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh and is studying in first year BA at St. Joseph's College on Lalbagh Road.
Bhargav failed in his first year BA exam last year and during his studies, he used to send obscene messages, photographs and videos to his classmates including girls. Everybody knew about it, but did not come forward to complain to their college principal. After he failed in his first year BA, he went back to his hometown, changed his SIM card and again started sending obscene messages to his classmates and other friends.
A police officer said that since everybody started receiving obscene messages they complained to the college principal, who filed a police complaint on Friday.
During the investigation, the police interrogated the students and learnt that Bhargav used to send such messages when he was in college. Later, the police found similar messages which he sent during his stay in the college. They also traced the number which was in the name of his father Gangadharappa M., who is a contractor. The police went to Hindupur and arrested Bhargav on Saturday. He was later released on the bail.
