Bengaluru: Bullet Khan, 2 others arrested for lifting bikes

Following a series of complaints of bike thefts, a special team was formed to trace the culprits.

Bengaluru: A three-member notorious vehicle-lifting gang which targeted expensive two-wheelers has been busted by the Varthur police.

The police recovered 16 motorbikes, including Royal Enfield Bullets and KTMs, worth Rs 30 lakh from the accused, who have been identified as Asmat Khan alias Bullet Khan, Santosh Reddy and Manjunath.

The gang was so fond of Royal Enfields and KTMs that they only lifted Bullets and KTM bikes to use them and later sell them to make quick money. That was how Asmat earned the nickname Bullet Khan for the collection of Bullets he had.

According to the police, the gang was involved in lifting of vehicles in Varthur, Suddaguntepalya, Tilak Nagar and Mico Layout police station limits. Following a series of complaints of bike thefts, a special team was formed to trace the culprits.

Based on information, the police nabbed one of the accused, Manjunath, and based on the information provided by him, they arrested two others.

The police recovered 10 Royal Enfield Bullets, two KTM Duke bikes, two Pulsar bikes, etc worth Rs 30 lakh from the accused.

The police are investigating of the accused were involved in other cases of vehicle thefts.
