Telangana: Tribal leaders booked on complaint by Lambadas
Kumarabheem Asifabad: The Kerameri police on Saturday registered a case against some Adivasi leaders following a complaint lodged by Lambada leaders that former MLA Soyam Bapurao and other unnamed persons were involved in burning of a statue of a Lambada woman.
However, the police did not reveal the names of the Adivasi leaders booked to avoid any untoward incidents and clashes between the Adivasis and Lambadas.
Meanwhile, Lambadas in large numbers stormed the Asifabad collectorate protesting against the incident that took place at Tribal Museum and demanding the arrest of the persons behind it.
A large number of Lambadas from across the four districts thronged the Kumarambheem Asifabad collectorate and submitted a memorandum to the top officials.
Elsewhere, Adivasis performed Palabhishekam to the photo of Mr Bapurao at Jainoor mandal headquarters and expressed their support to him.
