Hyderabad: A man’s suspicion that his fiancée was having an affair with some other person forced him to kill her.
Krishnaiah took R. Sowmya to an isolated location to clarify his doubts. But when she refuted his claims, he grew furious and punched her on the chest, killing her on the spot. He packed her body in a gunny bag and dumped it in the IDL tank in Kukatpally on Friday morning and surrendered before police in the same night.
A missing complaint was lodged at Jeedimetla police station.
Meanwhile, Sowmya’s mother and Krishnaiah’s relatives blamed each other for her death. The Jeedimetla police took Krishnaiah into custody.
Sowmya, 19, a commerce student, was residing with her mother. She was married a year ago and was presently single.
A few months ago, she met Krishnaiah at a family function and they became friends. Her family came to know about this and decided to marry her with Krishnaiah, who sought more time. For the past few days, he started suspecting her of having an affair with another person.
Mr T. Govardhan, ACP Balanagar, said that on Friday Krishnaiah met her and had a heated argument. In a fit of rage, he punched on her chest and she collapsed. “He said that for past three months her mobile used to be busy, due to which he suspected her. To clarify this, he met her on Friday, but she denied his accusations,” said the ACP.
