Three witnesses identify Muhammed Aslam murder accused

IUML worker Aslam, 20, was murdered at Nadapuram in August.

Kannur: An identification parade of the two accused in the Aslam murder case was conducted at the Kannur central prison in the presence of the magistrate of Vadakara court on Friday. The three witnesses identified the accused, it is learnt.
However, Nadapuram circle inspector Joshy Jose told DC that the identification parade was a court affair and that a report would be submitted to the police soon. “We had a foolproof investigation and I hope the witnesses might have identified the accused,” he added.

IUML worker Aslam, 20, was murdered at Nadapuram in August. There were 67 stab wounds on his body, including 13 on the face, and the hands were chopped. Aslam was an accused in the murder of DYFI worker Shibin. The witnesses include the pillion rider of the bike Aslam was travelling on and the natives who witnessed the murder.

It may be recalled that the police had nabbed two prime suspects, including Vijesh, 34, of Nadapuram, and Rajeevan,46, of Thottilpalam. The group headed by Vijesh travelled in an Innova, attacked Aslam who was riding a bike and hacked him to death, according to police. Rajeevan was the driver of the vehicle which hit Aslam’s bike.
