Hyderabad: Youth jailed for taking photograph

One of the tourists noticed him clicking photographs of the 26-year-old, and caught him red-handed.

A 25-year-old youth was jailed for taking pictures of tourists at Charminar without their permission on Friday by the Nampally court. According to the Charminar police, the accused was identified as MD Shakir Malik, a carpenter from Mallepally area and a native of Karnataka.

On Friday, Shakir Malik, started taking photos of a woman visitor without her permission, said inspector of Charminar K. Chandra Shekar Reddy.

“One of the tourists noticed him clicking photographs of the 26-year-old, and caught him red-handed. He was dragged to the police station,” said the official. “We booked him under section 70C of the City Police Act and produced him in the Nampally criminal court, and he was sentenced to three days simple imprisonment.”
