Bengaluru: A 21-year-old man slit his brother's throat for coming home drunk and harassing him on Thursday night, the Konanakunte police said.
The deceased, Vinay, 25, and his brother Sanjay stayed at Chunchaghatta with their mother.
Sanjay worked at a call centre, while Vinay worked as a mechanic. Vinay often came home drunk and harassed his mother and brother.
Around 9.30 pm on Thursday, Vinay again came home drunk and started abusing Sanjay. When their mother intervened, Vinay tried to hit her, which enraged Sanjay. He grabbed the kitchen knife and slit Vinay's throat, killing him instantly.
The neighbours, who heard the screams, alerted the Konanakunte police, who rushed to the spot and took Sanjay into custody.
The Konanakunte produced Sanjay before the court.
