Police booked a case under Section 304A (death through negligence) and 337 of IPC and arrested Uday Kumar.

According to police, Shanthi, 54, has been residing at AVP Layout in Gandhi Nagar near Tirupur. SShanthi was staying in the first floor of her house, while two portions on the ground floor were rented out to two families. On Wednesday night, she was found murdered in her room with cut injuries on her face, hand and head.
