The suspects had parked their car in the middle of the road.

Hyderabad: CCTV cameras helped the Cyberabad police to solve the case of a businessman and his friend who were assaulted.

The KPHB police arrested Allwyn Colony corporator Dodla Venkatesh Goud’s son Dodla Ramu Goud and his friends who had assaulted the two persons after getting drunk. The other suspects are Sevarthy Narasimha Chary, Arroju Chanikya and Pokalolla Shiva Kumar, all residents of Allwyn Colony.

Police said the suspects and the victims came to Siri Hotel in KPHB on Monday midnight to have tea after attending a Ganesh immersion procession in a nearby area. The suspects had parked their car in the middle of the road.

Meanwhile, the victims, who were also drunk, approached the car and accosted Ramu Goud who was in the car and abused him. Ramu got down from the vehicle and picked up an argument.

“Later, Ramu and his three friends assaulted the victim and his friends with their hands and kicked them. Based on Closed Circuit Television footage and evidence collected from the spot they were identified,” said inspector Kushalkar of KPHB. The arrested persons were remanded to police custody.
