Two Seethanagaram gang-rape accused arrested

The Urban SP said that the police got information that Krishna was returning home to see his mother

Vijayawada: Police arrested two persons in connection with the Seethanagaram gang-rape case and launched a manhunt for the third accused. Addressing a press meet on Saturday, Guntur urban SP, K. Arif Hafeez said that they had arrested Seru Krishna Kishore alias Krishna and Sk. Habib alias Hani Gundu, both from Tadepalli. They have intensified search for the third accused Prasana Reddy alias Venkat. He said that a girl belonging to Rajarajeswaripet, accompanied by her boyfriend, came to Puhskar Ghat on the banks of Krishna River at Seethanagaram on June 16.

Hafeez said that two culprits carried out an attack on them and raped the girl after tying her boyfriend with her clothes. They snatched away her gold ornaments and two mobile phones and managed to escape in a boat. The police formed special teams to nab the culprits and adopted them to Telangana, Tamilnadu and other states.

The Urban SP said that the police got information that Krishna was returning home to see his mother. They found him on the railway track near Tadepalli. Krishna and Venkat were also involved in the murder of a petty vendor. As ceiling workers, they used to steal copper wires on the railway lines.

The SP narrated about the sequence of events since that day and how they managed to nab the culprits even after they fled to places slike Ongole, Hubli, Nirmal and Bhainsa.
