Hyderabad: Police arrested the 22-year-old man who abducted and sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl in Balapur. The cops arrested the man’s mother too. Police said the suspect, Md Azmatullah Khan, lured the girl with promises of marriage and took her to Karnataka, where he sexually assaulted her. A hunt is on for Azmatullah’s sister and his friend who helped him to trap the girl. Balapur inspector S. Mohan Reddy said that Azamullah Khan was the neighbour of the girl. This slowly led to both talking on the phone and later he proposed to her, but she rejected it.
He told his mother Rukiya Begum about his proposal and how she had rejected it and asked her to talk to the girl’s parents. When Rukiya spoke to the girl’s mother she also rejected it. But Azamullah kidnapped the girl with the help of his mother, 16-year-old sister and friend Yousuf Ba. “On August 2, he took her to MGBS and from there went to Gulbarga. In Gulbarga he took a room in a lodge where he sexually assaulted the girl by force,” the inspector said. On the same night he brought her to Hyderabad and stayed at a dargah in Pahadishareef for one day and on Friday he dropped the girl at her home and fled.
Based on a complaint from the girl's mother, a case under Section 366, 376 (2) (i), 506 and 109 of IPC and the Pocso Act was registered. Azamullah and his mother were arrested on Monday, while a hunt is on for the other two absconding persons.
