Hyderabad: Depressed after the death of his father, a 30-year-old civil contractor allegedly committed suicide at Medchal. The contractor S. Raju, set himself ablaze at his home on Saturday and died on Sunday.
Police said S. Raju, 30, lost his father Narsimha recently. On Friday night, he consumed alcohol, and on Sunday poured kerosene and set himself ablaze.
"He set himself ablaze and suffered 50 per cent burns. He died on Sunday morning while undergoing treatment," Petbasheerabad inspector D.V. Ranga Reddy said. Raju is survived by his wife and two sons.
