Chennai: A Class VIII girl, who disappeared from her house in Mudukur village near Mapedu in Thiruvallur on Wednesday, was found dead in farm well on Thursday. She was a student of a private school in Manavala nagar. Police said that the body of the girl P Mohana, 13, in the farm well and alerted police.
A team of police from the Mappedu police station rushed to the place and fished out the body with the help of the fire and rescue squad. The body was later sent for post mortem to the Government Hospital in Thiruvallur.
Police suspect the girl may have slipped and fell into the well and drowned. Mohana had visited a free eye medical camp held at Kadambathur to address her eyes problem and she returned home with her father Purushothaman on Wednesday. After she returned home, she ventured out again, this time alone, around 3 pm, but never returned. The father had lodged a missing complaint at the Mappedu police station to trace his daughter.
