HMDA official held for fake permissions
Hyderabad: HMDA planning officer Ballanna Bheem Rao was trapped by the ACB for the second time on Thursday. He had allegedly given permission to Vyjayanth Developers to build a commercial complex by partly occupying land that was meant for a radial road in Financial District as per the HMDA Master Plan.
ACB raided multiple locations associated with Bheem Rao and unearthed several properties including two buildings, eight open plots and a shop at RC Puram.
Bheem Rao is said to be a close aide of arrested HMDA planning director K. Purushotham Reddy. Bheem Rao was earlier trapped in 1987 while he was a city planning supervisor in Serilingampally municipality.
The ACB has registered a case of criminal misconduct under Section 13 (1) (d) read with 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 against Purushotham Reddy and Bheem Rao.
They had recommended technical sanction for construction of commercial complex by Vyjayanth Developers in Survey No.s 322 and 323 of Puppalaguda of Gandipet in Ranga Reddy district.
The ACB alleged that while they were aware of the master plan, the accused deliberately recommended technical sanction for the construction of commercial complex partly on the land which was identified as a radial road in the master plan and caused pecuniary advantage to developers.
The ACB received complaints from those who suffered due to the deviation of roads following construction carried out by Vyjayanth Developers.
