Three held for burgling locked houses in Guntur

Cases were booked against the trio in Nallapadu police station, Chebrolu and Medikonduru police stations.

Amaravati: The Guntur police arrested three burglars and seized booty worth Rs 3 lakh at Guntur on Tuesday.

Addressing newspersons, CCS additional SP B.P. Thirupal said the police, led by Nallapadu circle inspector K. Srinivas Rao, arrested B. Ratnaraju of Rami Reddy Nagar of Guntur, B. Venkat Rao of SVN Colony of Guntur and K. Ashok of Pongupadu of Phirangipuram and seized gold chains and other valuable ornaments, worth Rs 3 lakh.

He said the three accused used to rob locked houses and that they were involved in four burglaries in the Housing Board Colony at Guntur. All of them are old criminals.

Cases were booked against the trio in Nallapadu police station, Chebrolu and Medikonduru police stations.
