BENGALURU: A 24-year-old pervert security guard was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl on the pretext of showing her videos in Bellandur police station limits. The incident took place on Tuesday, but came to light on Monday. The police have arrested the security guard, Arjun Mili, who is from Assam and was unemployed after his employer threw him out of the job for allegedly watching porn videos on office computers. He was working as a security guard at a reputed hospital in the city.
The police said that Arjun on Tuesday molested the girl who lives in the neighbourhood. The mother had admitted the girl into an ashram after her husband abandoned her to marry another woman. The girl had recently come home for summer vacation and stayed alone at the house, while her mother worked as a housekeeping staffer at Ecospace.
On Tuesday when the girl was alone at home, her neighbour called her to take care of her baby. When the victim was playing with the child, Arjun signalled her to go to him. When she went, he took her to his house, on the pretext of showing her some videos. His wife was not at home as she was away at work. Arjun played the video, handed over the mobile phone to the girl and made her sit on his lap.
As she started watching the video, he started touching her inappropriately. The girl sensed something was fishy, threw the mobile and ran to her house. The girl narrated the incident to her mother when she returned home in the evening. The mother rushed to the Bellandur police station and lodged a complaint following which Arjun was arrested and booked under various sections of POCSO.
