Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force, Central Zone Team apprehended three persons working at the Events Now ticket counter, located at Assembly Metro Rail station, Hyderabad, who were selling tickets for the IPL cricket matches illegally.
Two of the accused —Ranjith Kumar Ray, 19, and R. Varun Kumar, 18 — are booking clerks at Events Now. The third, S. Rahul Chary, 18, is an agent of Events Now.
Inspector Sayini Srinivasa Rao, of the Central Zone Task Force Team said the three were selling tickets priced at Rs 1,000 for Rs 2,000 and tickets priced at Rs 1,500 for Rs 3,000.
The police seized 16 IPL tickets, Rs 37,500 in cash and mobile phones from the possession of the three accused.
The Saifabad police will be conducting further investigations.
