Hyderabad couples too trying some dirty tricks, misusing Kalyana Lakshmi scheme

Couples who are already married are falsely claiming funds under the Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme.

Hyderabad: Like the Shaadi Mubark scheme, the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme is also misused by fraudsters.

Earlier, when the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) had organised massive free marriages, several couples were caught red handed for remarrying for gold mangalsutras and silver ornaments. Similarly, couples who are already married are falsely claiming funds under the Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme.

On Tuesday, Peddavura police in Nalgonda district arrested a person for claiming funds under the scheme twice in 20 days. Veerasingh from Palthi Tanda in Peddavura had got married 16 years back. With the assistance of his brother in law Banavath Chandulal, he submitted two applications for funds under the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme for his wife Ms Dhana by producing fabricated documents.

In the first case, he submitted papers stating his wife got married to Mr Ramavath Suresh from Kesavanaik Tanda on May 25, 2015 and withdrew Rs 51,000 from Gramina Vikas Bank.

After 20 days, he submitted another application claiming that Ms Dhana had got married on June 14, 2015 to Mr Banavath Swamy from Basonibai Tanda and again withdrew Rs 51,000.
