Hyderabad: The Nalgonda police registered cases against the Bhongir Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy for criminal intimidation for allegedly threatening Ch Suhas, the son of TPCC vice-president Cheruku Sudhakar, over the phone.
An audio clip of Venkat Reddy’s purported conversation threatening Suhas had gone viral on social media last week. In the audio clip, Venkat Reddy allegedly threatened to get Suhas killed by his followers.
Suhas approached the police and lodged a complaint. Suhas said he received a call from Venkat Reddy two days ago and the Congress leader started abusing him and threatened to kill him anytime. Suhas claimed that Venkat Reddy told him that some of his followers were searching for him (Suhas) to eliminate him.
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under IPC Section 506 (criminal intimidation).
