Benguluru: A 42-year-old notorious rowdy sheeter was hacked to death by a gang of five armed men in broad daylight near Iskcon Temple in Mahalakshmi Layout on Thursday.

The deceased, Lakshmana, is a resident of Sunkadakatte. He was involved in several cases of murder and land grab and has 25 criminal cases pending against him.

Preliminary investigations revealed that around four to five men. The whole incident was recorded in the CCTV camera from the nearby apartments. The police have obtained the CCTV footage and examining them to identify the accused.

Lakshmana was arrested by the CCB police last December in connection with a land-grab case, but he managed to obtain bail and came out in February 22.
