Four burglars arrested in Siddipet, Rs 34 lakh recovered

Days after a robbery incident, the police arrested four persons for robbery and seized cash of Rs 34 lakh and a four-wheeler from them

Hyderabad: Four persons with a criminal past used country-made guns to rob in Siddipet. The miscreants chose to commit robberies to clear their debts for paying advocates and others to come out free in the POCSO Act case that was registered against them earlier in Siddipet.

Days after a robbery incident, the police arrested four persons for robbery and seized cash of Rs 34 lakh and a four-wheeler from them.

The four arrested were G Raju and A Sai Kumar, both from Bandlaguda in Keesara, B Karunakar, a resident of Keesara and B Vamsi Krishna from Secunderabad. All the accused belong to Siddipet district.

Siddipet superintendent of Police (SP) Sweta Reddy said “The investigation officers obtained leads based on fingerprints on the country-made weapon that was abandoned at the place of robbery. Based on clues, the teams detained Sai Kumar, who confessed. Based on his confessional statement, his three accomplices were arrested.”

A few days ago, Raju helped his friend Sai Kumar, who was in love with a girl, by providing accommodation to them. Later, a case was registered under POCSO Act against the accused based on a complaint by the girl and her parents. The accused were arrested and shifted to jail from where they were released on bail.

As per their plan, Raju and Sai Kumar conducted recce at the sub-registrar office where huge money was exchanged during land registrations. They noticed the complainant V Narsaiah accepting Rs 43 lakh from the plot purchaser Sridhar Reddy and informed his friends.

The accused obtained country-made and committed the robbery and sped away with the bag containing Rs 43 lakh cash.
