Principal, warden suspended for misbehaving with girl students

TTD ordered its vigilance wing to conduct an inquiry and the probe found principal Surendra and warden Ramanadham guilty of charges

Tirupati: TTD administration is learnt to have suspended the principal of S.V. Oriental College as well as the hostel warden on Friday following charges that the two had misbehaved with girls students.

Highly placed sources said a group of girls at TTD’s Oriental College hostel brought non-vegetarian food to the hostel recently. Consumption of non-vegetarian food is strictly prohibited in TTD educational institutions and allied premises. When principal B. Surendra and warden Ramanadham came to know about this matter, they summoned the girl students and allegedly abused and misbehaved with them.

Following this, the girl students complained to top brass of TTD that they had been abused by the principal and warden. The two, however, maintain that they only warned the girls against such activities.

Consequently, the TTD ordered its vigilance wing to conduct an inquiry. The probe found principal Surendra and warden Ramanadham guilty of charges against them. Based on the report, the TTD suspended the two on Friday.

Meanwhile, women’s organisations staged protests at the S.V. Oriental College demanding that police arrest the principal and warden.
