Bengaluru: Woman, boyfriend held for bid to kill hubby
Bengaluru: An investigation into a robbery and foiled murder attempt on a man revealed an illicit relationship of his wife with the son of the building owner he was residing in. The investigation by Hulimavu police also revealed the role of the victim’s wife and her paramour in the crimes.
The police have arrested five people, including Mamta (28), wife of the victim Nagraj (38), and her paramour Prashant (20) along with the attackers, Anil Biswas (21), Zakir Pasha (20) and Harish Kumar (20), whom Mamta and Prashant had given a supari to kill Nagraj.
On December 14, Nagraj returned to his home in BTS Layout in Arakere after finishing work. Not aware of the attack planned on him by the men his wife and her paramour had hired, he had dinner and sat watching TV.
Around 9.15 pm, four unidentified men barged into his house and started punching him in the face. They took away his gold chain and Mamta’s jewellery. Just then, a neighbour walked into the house to get some water. The attackers who saw the woman coming ran away from the house and Nagraj was saved.
The police started investigating after Nagaraj in his complaint narrated the robbery incident and also mentioned that his wife had gone missing.
In his complaint, filed on December 15, Nagraj told the police that his wife never returned home from work on December 15 and also pointed out in the complaint the Prashant was also not to be seen from that day.
The police started the investigation based on a tipoff that led to the arrest of Mamta, Prashant, Biswas, Pasha and Kumar.
Mamta confessed before the police that she along with Prashant wanted Nagraj to be killed so that he would not know about their relationship.
