Telangana: Teacher brutally beats up, injures UKG child
Warangal Rural: A 5-year-old UKG student named Banoth Siddu of Ameenpeta thanda in Nekkonda was beaten up severely by his teacher Pushpalatha for not doing homework on Friday. The teacher assaulted him so brutally that cane marks can be seen on his legs, hands and back.
Enraged after seeing the injuries on the boy’s body, his parents and relatives went to school and talked to the management on Saturday. The boy’s father, B. Ravi, said they would approach the police. “Punishment is not the way to teach a small kid how to do homework. We send our kids hoping they would be given education but this kind of behaviour by teachers is not acceptable,” he said.
However, village heads intervened and asked Ravi not to file a complaint with the police. The school correspondent Ashok apologised to the parents and said he takes responsibility for the incident and promised such things would not happen again in the school.
Principal canes Class VI girl:
A principal allegedly beat up a student for absenting herself from school in Medak district on Saturday. His parents filed a complaint with the police. Police said Ramyasri, studying in Class VI at the Chaitanya High School in Ramayampet town, was absent from school for a few days. On Saturday when she came to school, Principal Kireet allegedly beat her up for being absent without a proper reason.
Coming to know about the incident her parents along with student unions staged a protest in front of the school and filed a police complaint. Meanwhile, Kireet denied the allegations saying that he did not beat up the child but had only warned her for being absent from school for so many days.
