Hyderabad: Sreenidhi school, parents patch up
Hyderabad: The authorities of Sreenidhi International School initiated negotiations with the parents of Chethan Chowdary, a student of class VII, who was asked not to attend classes after his parent filed a case against the school. The negotiations were overseen by the Inspector of Moinabad.
After the discussions, the school released a statement, saying that the issue had been resolved after an amicable conversation and the student’s parents had decided to withdraw their case. It also said that the authorities would ensure that Chethan received as much care and respect as other students. An official from the school said, “We will consider this case as closed. The school has clearly regained the parents’ trust. Chethan can now attend the classes as usual.”
The case sparked outrage online with parents saying that it was unfair for a school to develop a grudge against a student because of his parent’s actions. “The child complained that he was being alienated by his peers and mentally harassed by the school staff, and the parents filed a police complaint. Any parent in that position would have done the same,” said Maya Suresh, a parent.
