Three held for illegal sale of MDMA from Madikeri

During the operation, officials arrested the suspects and confiscated 15 grams of banned MDMA with an estimated value of Rs 75,000

Mangaluru: The Mangaluru CCB police have apprehended three individuals from Madikeri allegedly involved in the illegal sale of MDMA.

Acting on a tip-off that the trio was engaged in the illegal trade of MDMA near the Blue Star Lodge in Falnir, under the jurisdiction of the North Police Station, Mangaluru, the CCB police swiftly carried out a raid at the suspected location.

During the operation, officials arrested the suspects and confiscated 15 grams of banned MDMA with an estimated value of Rs 75,000. In addition to the narcotics, authorities also seized digital weighing equipment and mobile phones.

The total value of the confiscated assets is estimated at Rs. 95,000. According to the police the three arrested are Pramod MG (30) alias Disk, Mohammed Rasheed MZ alias Rashi (41) and Darshan S (24). All are from Kodagu district.

Police said that Pramod has prior criminal records, including cases of murder at Sullia police station in Dakshina Kannada district, attempted murder at Barke police station in Mangaluru city, and extortion and robbery at Madikeri city police station in Madikeri district.

Mohammed Rashid MZ alias Rashi has previous charges including robbery at Bhagamandala Police Station in Madikeri district, as well as cases of murder, robbery, and extortion at Madikeri City Police Station.

Darshan S has a case of attempted murder registered against him at Madikeri city police station.
