Man Gets 20 Year Jail Term in Pocso Case

Visakhapatnam: The special court dealing with Pocso cases in Visakhapatnam convicted a 27-year-old man to 20 years imprisonment and announced a compensation of Rs 50,000 to the victim on charges of sexually attacking a minor girl. The convicted youth was identified as Sai Kumar.

According to the prosecution, the girl was playing with other girls in Burma Colony and later she went missing. While searching for her, father was told by his elder daughter that she was taken by Sai Kumar to his house. When she came out of his house, he questioned her, suspecting something went wrong. The girl told him that Sai Kumar touched her private parts inappropriately.

The girl's parents went to the Malkapuram police station and lodged a complaint. The police during investigation, came to a conclusion that she was sexually attacked by Sai Kumar. The police filed a chargesheet after completing the investigation.

After the trial, the judge Anandi convicted Sai Kumar to 20 years imprisonment, slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 and announced a compensation of Rs 50,000.
