University of Hyderabad hostel raid: 10 held guilty of misbehaviour
HYDERABAD: Following the Friday’s incident in a men’s hostel at UoH, a committee set up to inquire into the matter, held 10 students responsible for physical intimidation, verbal abuse, preventing officials from discharging their duties and damage to properties. Twelve students, security personnel and wardens have been asked to depose before the committee which is probing the incident that occurred in men’s hostel during a surprise check by wardens.
The UoH administration alleged that wardens were threatened with physical violence. The committee expressed deep concern over the attempt to drag the university into controversies by presenting distorted versions. A spokesperson for UoH, said, “It has come at a time when the university has strengthened its internal grievance redressal mechanism.”
