Police deployed in Poes garden reduced to 15, government tells Madras High Court

Chennai: The state government on Monday informed the Madras high court that the strength of police personnel deployed at Poes Garden has been reduced from 50 to 15. Additional advocate general made this submission, after Justice N.Kirubakaran of the Madras high court during the last hearing had pulled up the government for deputing huge posse of police personnel in Poes Garden area.

To prevent youngsters from getting addicted, special steps have to be taken to monitor both schools and colleges. If no such steps were taken definitely, chances of youngsters getting addicted to drugs would be more sections 77 and 78 of the Juvenile Justice Act have to invoked for booking the persons who sell drugs or contraband goods to the school children.
