Hyderabad: Chain-snatchers attack women, flee with gold
Hyderabad: Chain-snatchers struck in Shadnagar town on Sunday, depriving two women of their gold chains in separate incidents on Sunday. The victims were identified as S. Neelamma and R. Latha.
According to police, Ms Neelamma, a housewife, was going by walk at Christian Colony in the afternoon when the snatchers approached her from behind and snatched away her gold chain. Less than an hour later, two bike-borne snatchers targeted Ms Latha and scooted away with her gold chain.
The victims told the police that the snatchers were moving on a red bike. Based on their complaint, a case has been registered.
Two held for gold snatching, 2 missing
The Chilkalguda police arrested two persons on Monday, for snatching gold from a man who visited his brother in Gandhi hospital. According to the police, the victim, K. Venkatesh, 24, came with his nephew to visit his brother.
After meeting his brother, they went for tea outside the hospital. Four persons stopped them and asked money. When they re-fused, the accused attacked the victim. Later, they snatched the gold chain from Venkatesh and fled.
The police recovered the gold chain from the accused and apprehended two of them. The arrested persons were identified as Nacharam Manikanta Yadav, 20, and Domati Bharath, 24. A hunt is on to nab the other two offenders.
Yadav was earlier convicted for dacoity under Section 395 of the IPC and was sent to jail. After his release from the jail in July 2017, he became friends with D. Bharath from the same locality.
