Hyderabad hotelier held for gambling
Hyderabad: The police raided a hotel and nabbed 16 persons, including the hotel owner, who were allegedly playing cards and gambling. The police has also written to the RDO seeking permission to close down the hotel. The police seized Rs 2,37,500 lakh from the gamblers.
Inspector J. Narender Goud said that Mohammed Saleem, 48, the owner of Highway Bawarchi hotel at Hayathnagar, used to gather his friends at the hotel and organise the teen patti card game. On Wednesday midnight Saleem and 15 others were playing cards in the hotel’s restroom.
Police raided the hotel and arrested 16 persons including the owner Saleem. The others are Jagan Reddy, M. Srinivas, K. Harish Reddy, N. Surender, Md Kareem, V. Srihari, Md Naseer, Anand Jain, D. Mohan, Sohail Shaik, Sayyed Yousuf, Md Asraf, Md Mazoor, K. Jagadishwar and Md Abdul Saleem.
Police seized Rs 2,37,500 and four mobile phones from the gamblers.
