HYDERABAD: Faced with a threat to stay with his estranged father and grandfather, a 16-year-old Intermediate first year student died by suicide at his house in Pedda Amberpet, Hayathnagar police said.
The victim in a purported suicide note said that the duo was forcing him to move in with them, even though he wanted to stay with his mother. His parents had divorced previously.
His father had gifted the teen a two-acre parcel of agricultural land and mentioned his grandfather as caretaker till the student became a major.
In his suicide note, he wrote that his father and grandparents are selfish and were threatening him to move in with them due to which he was not able to focus on his studies. He mentioned the names of his close friends who had helped him, police said.
Police booked the father and grandfather for abetment to suicide and took them into custody.
