Namakkal: In an extremely tragic case, a history-sheeter mercilessly beat his wife and pushed her that led to her near-instant death following a domestic quarrel at their home in Appurpalayam near Tiruchengode in Namakkal district on Thursday.
Police said that M Prabakaran, 33, was booked in as many as 13 cases in connection incidents of murder and robbery previously.
He had been arrested again a few days back in another case, was remanded to judicial custody and lodged in the Coimbatore central prison.
However, Prabakaran reportedly obtained bail and returned to his native village on Sunday.
